SneakTime is designed with privacy as a core principle. This policy explains what data we access, how we use it, and what we never do.
What SneakTime Accesses
SneakTime reads Upwork's local log files to detect when screenshots are taken. This detection happens entirely on your machine.
SneakTime never uploads screenshot images or screen contents. We do not access, transmit, or store any visual content from your screen.
Optional Features
If you choose to enable statistics or sign in with your account:
- SneakTime stores only screenshot timestamps (when screenshots occurred)
- SneakTime stores basic usage events (e.g., extension opened, settings changed)
- This data is associated with your account if you sign in
You can disable statistics and use SneakTime without any data storage.
What We Never Do
- We never upload screenshot images or screen contents
- We never access your browsing history or personal files
- We never track your activity outside of Upwork Time Tracker
- We never sell or share your data with third parties
Data Storage
All screenshot detection happens locally on your machine. If you enable optional features, data is stored securely and only used to provide statistics and account features.
